In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1.1
For millennia, healing through Sound has been a part of the human condition. From the orthodox religions to their spiritual expressions, sound as a healing balm is as fundamental a part of our cultural identity as a mother sings lullaby’s to calm her children.
It is different to music aesthetic, in that it matters not whether you ‘like’ it; the sound waves created with particular instruments actually change our brain waves, actively shifting us from a state of ‘awake-ness’ to that of deep relaxation or ‘consciousness’.
Sound medicine is so much more than a way to unwind, however being able to relax is the corner stone of recovery from anxiety and stress, arguably the main factors in any form of unease/disease in our minds and body’s.
Practitioner for sound medicine is Gareth Wilkins.
